The Best Staycations for Summer 2021

Staycations are a great sustainable alternative to going abroad. A single holiday flight produces around 53 pounds of CO2 per mile. The aviation industry is responsible for 2.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. By holidaying in your home country, you can discover some of the best beauty spots whilst reducing your carbon footprint. Not sure where to start? We’ve prepared some of our favourite staycation destinations for inspiration.

  • St. Ives, Cornwall

Are you a seaside person? Us too. St. Ives in Cornwall has always been loved for its gorgeous beaches and fisherman’s cottages. St.Ives is renowned for its artistic heritage offering visitors diverse galleries, including Tate St.Ives and Barbara Hepworth’s Sculpture Garden. There’s also surfing and boat trips to Seal Island - best experienced wearing a pair of polarised-mirror sunglasses.

  • Edinburgh, Scotland

Looking for city breaks? Edinburgh is one of the most enchanting cities in the world and throughout August is home to the legendary Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The festival is known around the globe for its celebration of arts and culture. The city also offers stunning architecture, including the famous Edinburgh castle. • Norwich, Norfolk

We had to include Norwich, where our founder George Bailey went to university and launched Coral Eyewear, and where he met tv personality, entrepreneur and philanthropist Jake Humphrey. Norwich is a stunning little city surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It is a historical city with attractions like Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Castle and Museum and one of the oldest and largest markets in the UK.

  • Betws-y-coed, Wales
