Coral Eyewear announces partnership with luxury sportswear brand Castore

Coral Eyewear has today unveiled their new partnership and product collaboration with luxury sportswear brand Castore.

The partnership will be an exciting opportunity for both brands to expand their use of recycled materials and brings together expertise from two British design teams.

Both brands are innovative voices in the sporting world and are excited to unveil the new pair of sunglasses created with regenerated ocean waste.

The eyewear, designed by experts in London and Edinburgh with a performance-based lifestyle in mind, have scratch-resistant and UV-protective lenses.

For Castore, they are the latest in a string of eco-friendly product launches following on from Andy Murray’s AMC kit for Wimbledon 2021 which features a world-first sustainable wool.

The sunglasses are created with ECONYL regenerated nylon - an innovative material made with harmful waste that would otherwise pollute the Earth such as fishing nets and fabric scraps from all over the world.

As well as cleaning oceans, the material also reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% when compared with material from oil.

Coral Eyewear and Castore have a shared ambition to create the best possible product and the two brands are out to showcase that sustainability no longer has to compromise on style and performance.

George Bailey, Co-Founder at Coral Eyewear said:

“I’m incredibly proud that a brand with the global presence of Castore has seen the power in our ethos of sustainability. Together, I believe we can take eyewear to a new level.”

Tom Beahon, Co-Founder at Castore said:

“Our motto is ‘Better Never Stops’ and this is something we apply whenever researching new materials. Coral Eyewear were the first brand to apply this innovative material to sunglasses in the UK and we’re excited to gave added the Castore touch in creating the ultimate sustainable sunglasses.”
