Coral's Latest Investor: Alexander Sims

ALEXANDER SIMS BECOMES LATEST INVESTOR IN CORAL EYEWEAR

Alexander Sims, driver for the Mahindra Racing Formula E Team, has officially extended his relationship with Coral to become an investor.

He joins the likes of broadcaster Jake Humphrey on the investment roster, having previously been a brand ambassador and having had presence throughout the established Coral Eyewear and Mahindra Racing partnership.

Sims has long been a sustainability advocate in both his personal and professional life. From an early stage, he has focused efforts on reducing his individual impact on the planet through eco-conscious practices, such as investing in electric cars and installing more than 50 metres worth of solar energy panels at his home.

The collaboration comes as Sims contests his final Formula E races in Seoul, South Korea this weekend. After four seasons in the all-electric championship, he will now switch his attention to other motorsport categories alongside wider personal endeavours, such as being an ambassador for the Heart of England Forest charity and a Coral Eyewear investor.

"I first became aware of Coral Eyewear after about a year of wearing glasses, and was seeking a more sustainable eyewear solution. Coral Eyewear were the only company I could find, and they’re now a leader in the market," said Sims.

"For more than 10 years now I've also been on a personal journey to find ways to reduce my individual impact on the planet, so this investment made a lot of sense to me on many levels.

The Coral Eyewear brand has been an embodiment of everything going on in my life for the last few years - being sustainably produced, but also designed at a premium level, fitting for a global electric motorsport series.

I'm really excited to now be switching from ambassador to investor, and getting further involved in Coral Eyewear's commitment to make positive change in the eyewear industry."

Coral Eyewear Co-Founder George Bailey said: "Alexander's passion for the environment and sustainability shines through in everything that he does.

It's been great to immerse ourselves in the sport of Formula E through Alexander and Mahindra Racing over the last two years, and prove that our eco-friendly production processes can still create premium products suitable to be worn by drivers and teams in an international racing series.

With Alexander now coming on board as one of our many investors, it proves that both sides are committed to the wider cause of creating positive change in our industry, which is generating record-breaking sales, significant partnership opportunities and consistent investment interest in the brand."
